Coalescence is the process by which two or more droplets, bubbles or particles merge during contact to form a single daughter droplet, bubble or particle.
Coalescence filters will induce this process to eliminate liquids from a gas system or even separate tow undissolved liquids like oil-in-water emulsions.
Other uses for this type of filtration can be oil in an air stream toxic for human use or water in a gas flow that can be hazardous for equipment.
