This type of filtration is commonly used in water applications and air purification. The process involves activated carbon to eliminate impurities and contaminants using de carbon absorption quality. The absorption process trap the pollutant (i.e. chlorine) in the pore structure of the carbon substrate.
Activated carbon filtration is commonly used to remove chlorine, sediments, as well as taste and odor from water but is not an optimal solution to eliminate minerals, salts or dissolved inorganic compounds.
